Individual Position: The individual is lying prone with the dorsum of their hand placed on top of the lamina groove of their back
Practitioner Position: The practitioner stands on the ipsilateral side, inferior to the individual’s extended, flexed, and internally rotated arm; and places one hand on the elbow and the other hand stabilizes the shoulder.
Description of Muscle Test: The practitioner applies moderate resistance against the superior surface of the elbow and simultaneously requests the individual to push their elbow toward the ceiling while maintaining a fixed location of the hand on their back. (The individual frequently attempts to recruit by wrist extension or by gaining additional leverage by moving their hand more laterally or rolling up on their knuckles).
