Abductor Digiti Minimi

The Pointer Plus is an easy to use trigger point (TP) locator which
incorporates a push button stimulation feature to immediately treat
Trigger point pain.

The Abductor Digiti Minimi is a muscle of the hand.

Anatomical Attachments:
- Origin: Attaches to the pisiform bone and the tendon of the flexor carpi ulnaris
- Insertion: Attaches to the medial side of the base of the proximal phalanx of the little finger.
Action: Abducts the little finger.
Synergist: Palmaris brevis, Flexor digiti minimi, and Opponens digiti minimi.
Antagonist: Abductor pollicis brevis, flexor pollicis brevis, Opponens pollicis, Adductor pollicis.

Nerve Supply: Ulnar nerve (C8, T1).
Nerve Entrapment: It entraps the digital nerves that cause cutaneous hypoesthesia along the side of the finger that is affected.
Vascular supply: Deep volar branch of the ulnar artery and the dorsum carpal branch of the ulnar artery.
Travell and Simons Trigger Point Pain Referral:
- Primary: The pain refers along the outer aspect of the little finger.
