The Extensor Pollicis Longus is a deep muscle of the posterior forearm.
Anatomical Attachments: Action: Extends the thumb.
Synergist: Brachioradialis, Supinator, Extensor Carpi radialis brevis and longus, Abductor pollicis longus, Extensor pollicis brevis, Extensor digitorum, Extensor digiti minimi, Extensor carpi ulnaris, Extensor indicis.
Antagonist: Pronator teres, Flexor carpi radialis, Palmaris longus, Flexor carpi ulnaris, Flexor digitorum superficialis, Flexor digitorum profundus, Flexor pollicis longus, pronator quadratus.
Nerve Supply: Radial nerve (C6, C7, and C8). Vascular supply: Posterior interosseus of the ulnar artery.
