Intertransversarii

The Intertransversarii is a deep muscle of the back.

Anatomical Attachments:

  • Origin and insertion: Attaches to the transverse processes of the cervical, lumbar and T10 through T12 vertebrae, with each inserting on the vertebra directly superior to origin.

Action: Lateral flexion of the vertebral column.

Nerve Supply: Anterior and Posterior rami of the spinal nerves.

Vascular supply: Costocervical trunk of the deep cervical branch, posterior intercostal and lumbar arteries.
