Pointer Plus

The Pointer Plus is an easy to use trigger point (TP) locator which incorporates a push button stimulation feature to immediately treat Trigger point pain.

The stylohyoid is an anterior muscle of the neck.

Anatomical Attachments:

  • Origin: Attaches to the styloid process of the temporal bone.
  • Insertion: Attaches to the hyoid bone.

Action: Elevates and retracts the hyoid bone and the base of the tongue during swallowing.

Nerve Supply: Stylohyoid branch of Facial nerve VII.

Vascular supply: Occipital and facial muscular branches.

Vascular entrapment: Occasionally, entraps the external carotid artery and the posterior auricular artery.

Travell and Simons Trigger Point Pain Referral: The pain refers to the neck and the head region.
