Sternohyoid

Pointer Plus

The Pointer Plus is an easy to use trigger point (TP) locator which incorporates a push button stimulation feature to immediately treat Trigger point pain.

The Sternohyoid is an anterior muscle of the neck.

Anatomical Attachments:

  • Origin: Attaches to the posterior aspect of the manubrium, the posterior sternoclavicular ligament, and the clavicle.
  • Insertion: Attaches to the inferior margin of the hyoid bone.

Action: Depresses the larynx and the hyoid bone, in addition to stabilization of the hyoid bone.

Nerve Supply: C1, C2, C3 via Ansa Cervicalis.

Vascular supply: Sternocleidomastoid and hyoid branches of the superior thyroid and the hyoid branch of the lingual artery.
